Privacy Policy
This page explains how the Sofravo mobile app and the sofravo.app website process your personal data. The first sections are the same as the privacy notice shown in the app, prepared under Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).

What Data We Process
Your email address and a hash of your password (the password itself is not stored); your cuisine and dietary preferences; your saved ingredients, cookbook and recently opened recipes; your expiry tracking list; the ingredient, label and food photos you upload; your device id, IP address and usage records (to count spoons and prevent abuse).
Why We Process It
To open and maintain your account, recognize ingredients in your photos and suggest dishes and recipes, keep your preferences and lists, show the food photos you share under the relevant recipe, count your daily usage allowance, keep the service secure and improve the app.
Legal Grounds
Formation and performance of the membership agreement (Turkish Data Protection Law, art. 5/2-c), legal obligations (art. 5/2-ç) and our legitimate interest in providing the service securely (art. 5/2-f). Showing your photos with your nickname in the future relies solely on the separate explicit consent you give (art. 5/1).
Who We Share It With
For dish suggestions, label reading and checking shared food photos, the photos, ingredient lists and cuisine/dietary preferences are sent to our AI service provider (Anthropic, USA). These transfers contain no name, email or user id; location data is stripped from photos and photos containing faces never leave your phone. The information sent therefore cannot be linked to you. When you add ingredients by voice, the audio is transcribed by your phone's own speech recognition (Apple or Google); we never receive the recording, only the transcribed text. Data is also held by the server and storage providers we use. Your data is never sold for advertising.
Your Food Photos
The food photos you share are publicly visible under the recipe. For now your name, email and nickname are not shown. If social features are added later, your photos will be shown with your nickname and profile only if you have given separate explicit consent. You can delete your photos at any time.
How Long We Keep It
For as long as your membership lasts. If you delete your account we erase or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Your Rights
Under art. 11 of the Turkish Data Protection Law you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, request information, ask for correction or deletion, learn who it has been transferred to, object, and claim compensation for damages. You can send your request to the email address above.
Our Servers
The app's server and your account data are kept in a data center in Türkiye.
App Permissions
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose an ingredient, label or dish photo. The microphone is used only while you add ingredients by voice. Notifications are for expiry reminders and are scheduled on your phone. You can turn permissions off at any time in your phone's settings.
Error Reports
If the app runs into an error, the error message, your phone's operating system and the app version are sent to our own server. These reports contain no name, email or device ID. We use no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Age Limit
You must be at least 18 to create a Sofravo account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
This Website
sofravo.app uses no cookies, ads or visitor tracking and has no forms. It is served through Cloudflare, which may briefly process technical data such as IP addresses for security and to deliver the site.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account and all your data from the app at any time. Details: Account Deletion.
